His smooth style has been perfected during his 16+ years of DJing at top spots across the U.S., Mexico, and the Dominican Republic.DJ Groove Tech was born and raised in Rock Capital of the world, Cleveland, Ohio. The up-and-coming hip-hop and drum n bass scene was where he made his first DJing debuts. His fascination with mixing grew as his driving beats fed rave crowds and gained demand in the Cleveland area.Groove Tech also dove into the music production side of things, releasing dnb bootlegs for record labels in the UK and famous remixes of 50 Cent’s “In the Club VS. Closer” by Nine Inch Nails. From 2000 – 2005,Groove Tech held numerous residencies at Cleveland hot spots such as, Metropolis, Velvet Dog, Spy Bar, Wish, Shooter’s on the Water, Touch as well as aired his electro rock remixes for Cleveland’s own rock station 107.9 The Edge. After dominating the Cleveland Scene, he made a move to the young, thriving city of Scottsdale, Arizona.no longer confined to hunting down rare pieces of vinyl and spending countless hours in record shops, Groove Tech was now able to obtain an infinite amount of crowd pleasers with the click of a mouse.“In some ways I miss the time before the digital era, but Serato takes everything that is great about the turntables and gives me the ability to create music that was impossible to achieve before.” Groove Tech’s affinity for the hottest technologies in Disc Jockeying have given him his namesake. Over the years he has had the opportunity to play alongside industry giants such as Kid Rock, All American Rejects, Biz Markie, DJ AM, Dieselboy, DJ Dara, DJ Funk, Bad Boy Bill and Mix Master Mike. Groove Tech’s high energy, dance floor packing mixes have raged corporate events for Nike, Jose Cuervo, Absolut Vodka, Ultimat Vodka, Red Bull, Victoria Secret, Gap and Apple well into the morning hours. He dominated the Desert Heat DJ Battle in 2010, beating out 12 of the west coast’s top DJ’s. Currently, you can catch DJ Groove Tech holding down weekly residencies as well as guest spots at major Tempe and Scottsdale staples like Mill Cue Club, Zuma, Blue Martini, Beats & Cocktails Lounge, Talking Stick Casino, Rooftop Lounge, Ra Sushi, and Half Moon. His video sets are an entertaining mash-up of pop culture, turntablism with open format sounds and cutting edge DJ technology.The biggest DJ influences include DJ AM, Z-Trip, DJ Scene, DJ Vice, Andy C, DJ Craze, Shortee, Fashen, Chris Villa, and Q-Bert.
